Growing up on my father's ranch in eastern Montana, hunting Pheasants and Prairie Chickens with Dad and Niki, his Brittany Spaniel. It was the 50s and 60s. No phones or running water, but we had electricity. Monarch cook stove with water reservoir. Most precious, forever memories. A long tailed rooster Pheasant rising in the morning sun, Niki at point, 16 gauge double. I am there with you.
Maybe time for some non-violent civil disobedience. How about "Flashing against Fascism".. drive with your emergency flashers on.. It's protected speech. https://www.aclu-mo.org/en/node/92 Imagine every Friday (Flashing Friday) cars across the country, driving around normally in all ways except they have their emergency flashers on. Easy entry level civil disobedience, made for social media, scalable for each driver.
Writing from California. I love, love what you are writing. I think you speak for people on both sides of the divide and I hope your voice begins to be shared with the rest of the country. I am actually trying to share it with my own congressmen
Totally understood and appreciate "Those were the days that wiped the crust of naiveté from my eyes." For me it was the Democratic Convention of 1968 in Chicago. That pretty much convinced me just how corrupt many/most politicians had become. Still try to contend with idea that so many people have that politics doesn't matter and try to do it in a diplomatic way but right now should make it obvious to everyone that participation in government is fundamental and essential. Thank you for all your comments.
I love your writing. Photos are beautiful. I love watching bird dogs work with their owner. The training is spectacular and I admire the discipline. Private industry "hands off our public lands!"
R.Zinke is a fake cowboy, has snake oil to sell. I wonder what he is up to except no good.

Thanks Carolyn!! Just writing what I feel. Appreciate the note.
I highly recommend a discussion that Heather Cox Richardson had with Wes Silver about the value of our public lands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6Bch6vtia8
